Tammy Kaufman

Artist Statement

“Light-filled moments in time are reflected in my intimate paintings, where nature speaks with a whisper instead of a shout. These works invite the viewer to observe more closely the tiniest details found in even the most expansive vistas, and celebrate the beauty and joy of a wild and tranquil natural world where time seems to stand still, a world sans the destructive forces of man. My painting surfaces are selected thoughtfully for their various textures, and pastels are my instinctive medium of choice due to the intimate connection of the artist’s hand directly to the painting surface, using luminous pigments created from the earth itself. It is a privilege to share my love and respect for Mother Nature through my paintings.”
