Gary Taber

Artist Bio:

Left England for the United States in 1980 and spent most of my time on the West Coast and Southwest. I became very interested in the native american arts and draw most of my inspiration from that. Now living in North Carolina I am finding interest in the natural landscape and differences in the foliage, so my pieces are taking on a new direction.
Artist Statement:

My inspiration for most of my work is the American West and Great Plains. I use mostly Soapstone or Alabaster for my sculpture and I try to document seasonal and light effects with my Photography.

About My Work

Mostly work with Soapstone and Alabaster on wood. I also work with materials of opportunity, such as drift wood and beached coral.
