Artist Statement/Bio

I am a self taught jewelry metal smith. I love using unusual and one of a kind gemstone cabochons in my work. I have been jewelry making for over a decade and more recently in the past 3 years working with metal. I have lived in Wake County for the past 13 years and have found my place here. I work from my home studio In Raleigh.

About My Work

Most of my work consists of either .999 fine silver, sterling or copper sheet that has been hand cut with some pieces incorporating all of those metals. I love designing around beautiful hand selected cabochon gemstones such as labradorite, ocean jasper, larimar and many more. Each stone has it’s own personality and I review each stone for the best placement in my work. I enjoy designing different styles and I am consistently experimenting to gain more experience for designs. I also custom design pieces working closely with clients. My work can be found at Ollie’s CafĂ© and Gifts, located on South White Street in Wake Forest and in Nofo on Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. My work is also displayed on etsy under HotrocksJewelry and Instagram under HotRocksJewelryRaleigh. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to get to know me.
